Alien Gear holsters is back at it again at SHOT Show 2016. This time they are featuring a brand new paddle-style outside the waistband holster that looks just about as high quality as their other holsters are.
As usual, Alien Gear's holsters are convertible, meaning that you can change which gun you're carrying almost as often as you change your underwear. With the simple swap of the plastic shell, you can carry a totally different gun each day of the week. Simply remove the four allen-head screws, remove the shell, put the new one down, and tighten the screws back up to your desired tension.
As someone who carried a Fobus paddle holster around for quite a while, I can honestly say that this method of outside the waistband carry isn't for everyone. While they are comfortable, they also tend to be a nuisance as the weapon prints more once you place your shirt over it.
However, there are also clear benefits to this type of holster, as well. For example, re-holstering your weapon is a snag-free breeze when you carry like this.
Alien Gear hasn't released this holster yet. In fact, they won't even tell me what the name of the holster is. I tried to get it out of them, but they wouldn't budge. If you know anything about me, you know that I love their products. You can bet that when they finally do release it, I'll be all over it like the crumbs on your grandfather's beard.
