Anti-Gun Oscar Noms | Numbers 2 and 6 Are Shocking

Featured Guns & Ammo News

Well Gun Carriers, the Oscars are right around the corner.

And, while I don’t particularly enjoy sitting in front of the TV while a bunch of overpaid actors receive awards for movies, which, let’s face it, suck most of the time—I figured there was something pertinent to consider here.

Something like, where some of these people stand on gun-control. Or, as many of them like to call it: “gun-safety.”
So, I compiled this little list of Oscar nominees, who just also happen to have negative thoughts toward guns. That way, if you do decide to watch these people accepting big, metal, yellow-colored dudes, you can now boo the ones who are openly anti-gun. That’s right, friends. Here is your Oscar-viewing companion list of people who hate the gun:

Bryan Cranston:

Where shall we start? Ah, yes. Everyone’s favorite Breaking Bad star, Bryan Cranston, who is nominated for a leading actor award for the movie Trumbo. Yeah, he’s anti-gun. But, he’s hilariously hypocritical in his anti-gun rantings. In a 2013 interview he did with Politico, he condemned the NRA and the senators who voted pro-gun, and in the next sentence, he says this when talking about legalizing the wacky tabacky:
I see it the same as alcohol. It’s one person’s choice as an adult to alter your current condition. … I don’t see the difference. I personally don’t care for it, but that doesn’t mean I should have the right to prevent those who do.”
So wait, Mr. Cranston, you support gun-control, but don’t think people should have the right to prevent people to get high? Are you high, man? In other words, it’s my choice to defend myself and family with a gun, so butt out.

Jennifer Lawrence:

This one really surprised me. I think she’s a great actress, and I loved her role in the hungriest franchise, ever. And, while many people believe her to be pro-gun, she’s actually joined up with a group of other celebrities affiliated with Everytown For Gun Safety. People believe she’s pro-2A, because she’s been quoted as saying “screw PETA” and that after she buys a house, she’s gonna buy a shotgun.

Well, this is one of those times where the hypocrites point out that what’s good for the goose isn’t necessarily what’s good for the gander—or however that saying goes. J Law, as she’s been lovingly dubbed by those in Hollywood, is nominated for best leading actress for her role in Joy.

Matt Damon:

This one is no surprise. This dude is so anti-gun and such a hypocrite that bull snot is literally pouring out of his mouth. He has been nominated for best actor for his role in The Martian, which, wasn’t a bad flick. Too bad, because one of the stupidest things he’s ever said, was “I actually hate guns. They freak me out.”
Well, sir. I guess you’re allowed to hate them, now that you’ve made your millions off of them in movies playing Jayson Borne. Good job.

Mark Ruffalo and Michael Keaton:

I went ahead and grouped these two guys together because they both co-star in the same movie, Spotlight, which is nominated for Best Picture. Both of these guys are on Julianne Moore’s Everytown Creative Council.

Sylvester Stallone:

Again, no surprise here. He’s made it very apparent that he’s willing to do whatever it takes to disarm Americans, to the point of going door to door. I wonder if he’s gonna be coming to my door. Of course, I’d ask him to autograph one of my Rambo DVDs, because, let’s face it, anyone who fires an M60 from the hip is bad-ass.

Still, he’s a hypocrite who has made (and continues to make) millions of dollars off of the American people as he slings bullets down-range. He’s being nominated for a best supporting actor role for the movie Creed.

JJ Abrams:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Say it ain’t so! Yes, the director of one of the best Star Wars movies ever made is on Everytown’s Creative Council list. He isn’t being nominated for anything directly, but the Star Wars movie has been nominated for several Oscars in multiple other categories. According to this guy, “gun-violence” doesn’t happen anywhere else in the world. Ya know, anywhere else like Paris, France, with some of the strictest gun laws in place. Ever.

Steve Carell:

This guy also belongs to the Julianne Moore list, and can be seen in their video calling for an end to “gun-violence.” He isn’t being nominated directly for anything. But the movie he co-starred in, The Big Short, is nominated for best picture.

What’s the point in all of this? Well, for one, to educate all of us Gun Carriers about who is on our side, and who isn’t. I’ll leave what to do with this information in your hands. Personally, I don’t enter certain establishments once they’ve made it clear where they stand on guns. Though, sometimes it is nearly unavoidable.
Personally, I don’t watch Stallone movies anymore because he’s taken such a stance that I’d feel guilty for going to support his hypocrisy. In fact, I think maybe I’ll use my Rambo DVDs for target practice. That sounds like it might be a good idea.
What do you think? Did I just waste a few hours of my life compiling this list for you? Or, is this the type of information that you want to know? Let me know in the comments below. Also, I couldn’t find anything about Leonardo Dicaprio and a few of the others who are nominated. Let me know if I missed any.

Yes Mr. Hamilton, they do have a right to their opinion. And I have a right to not watch or financially support them by avoiding their hypocritical movies that they star in. If they want to make money in harlotwood, fine. But they can at least be honest about what they believe (or don’t believe in – like the 2nd Am.), and NOT take those role that portray them using the very things that they want band from the average American citizen. Oh…and if you or I can not be trusted/allowed to have a firearm, then they (or their bodyguards) can’t have them either!
