Apple cider vinegar is probably the best thing you can keep in your pantry! It has such a wide variety of uses from health benefits such as regulating diabetes to treating the common cold or flu to beauty benefits such as a skin toner to treat acne and minimize wrinkles….and so much more!
Why Every Survivalist Should Have ACV in Their Pantry
And here’s a plus! Apple cider vinegar doesn’t expire like other products. It’s a very acidic substance, and it will keep for at least 5 years provided that it’s stored properly in a cool and dry place such as a pantry. Please note: a bottle of apple cider vinegar should be tightly sealed when not in use. Any contaminants (even dust particles) that can get into the bottle might cause the liquid to deteriorate faster.
The Health Benefits of ACV: My Top Five
Diabetes
ACV is believed to enhance sensitivity of insulin and lower blood glucose levels. This article is a great resource of information for treating diabetes with ACV.
Cold and Flu
It can help fight the flu and common cold. Here’s a great recipe called Season Cider using ACV.
Lowering Blood Pressure and Cholesterol
Apple cider vinegar for blood pressure is believed to work in a number of ways. First, it is a great component in helping to lower bad cholesterol, which in turn has a positive effect on blood pressure. Medical studies have shown that people who consumed apple cider vinegar in their daily meals showed lower levels in their blood pressure without changing anything else in their diets.
Apple cider vinegar to treat blood pressure is best when consumed in the amount of 2 tablespoons a day, whether in liquid or the equivalent in capsule or pill form.

Acne and Wrinkles
How to make your own ACV toner to treat acne and fend off wrinkles.
Ingredients
- 50/50 mix of Braggs Organic Apple Cider Vinegar and pure filtered water
- (Optional) 1-2 drops Tea Tree Oil or Lavender
Use: Mix and store in a glass container. Use as you would any facial toner.
Mole Remover
Take a cotton ball and soak it in apple cider vinegar. Then place the soaked cotton on top of the mole and put a band-aid strip on it, to keep it sticking for a longer period of time. Repeat this process at least three times a day. Replace it with new cotton balls soaked in vinegar. Those who wish to remove protruding moles will see the result after two weeks. It acts fast and makes the mole shrink, reducing its size and finally layering it off the skin.
Healthy Hair
ACV / Herb Hair Rinse
