The Beretta Px4 Storm: A Tough Little Handgun

Beretta Px4 Storm Review

The Beretta Px4 Storm is a renowned NATO-certified DA/SA semi-automatic pistol. Its absolute durability, ergonomics, reliability, and interchangeable parts make it a top choice for military and police personnel all over the world.

It is very easy to operate, that is why it is also a favorite for personal, home defense, and concealed carry. It comes in different calibers, 9x19mm, .45 ACP, and .40 S&W.

I had the chance to fire a Beretta Px4 Storm and the first things that came to my mind were the words smooth, easy to shoot, and accurate.

Gun Specs

The Beretta Px4 Storm is a semi-automatic, short recoil barrel handgun chambered in 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP. It has a locked-breech with a rotating barrel and reinforced fiberglass technopolymer frame.

Its external hammer changes the trigger pull when cocked back — it goes to single action from double action.

The Px4 also features Picatinny rail for mounting lights and lasers, interchangeable front sight, reversible magazine catch, chrome lined bore, internal recoil buffer, and an ambidextrous safety that acts as a decocking lever.

And to prevent it from AD, it has a visible automatic firing pin block. This pistol comes in four variations.

To find out more about the Beretta Px4 Storm, check out the specs below.

  • Barrel: 4”
  • Caliber: 9mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP
  • Capacity: 14+1 rounds (.40 S&W), 10+1 rounds (.45 ACP), 17+1 rounds (9x19mm)
  • Trigger: Double-action/single-action
  • Finish: Bruniton non-reflective black coating
  • Grips: Textured Polymer
  • Frame: Polymer
  • Sights: Three-dot
  • Weight: 27.7-28.2 oz
What is a Polymer Frame? A material that is more flexible and lighter than steel. Polymer material absorbs recoil better than a steel frame.

Ease of Use and Performance

[instagram url=https://www.instagram.com/p/BwrGZOIlLx-/ hidecaption=true width=625] The Beretta Px4 Storm is very accurate and very easy to operate. One cool feature of these Beretta handguns is the rotary barrel, which disperses recoil energy away from the shooter's hand and exceedingly decreases muzzle jumps, thus making this handgun fast and accurate.

Disassembling and reassembling is also very easy to do. It also comes with two extra back straps to give shooters a more comfortable feel.

Pros and Cons

There are a lot of good things about the Beretta Px4 Storm and one of them is its toughness. The design can withstand rigorous shooting and fits very well the military standard for durability.

It can fire thousands and thousands of rounds with zero part breakages.

Another awesome thing about the Px4 is it comes in different calibers. I like this pistol in 9mm.

The lines are snag-free, making unholstering and reholstering fluid and easy. The rotating barrel is simply superb in soaking up recoil, allowing for quicker target acquisition between shots.

Although I like this pistol, I still think it is a disadvantage for concealed carry. While some of you may not like the slide-mounted safety but with a little practice, it will grow on you.

Hello, is this review for the Type F, Model JXF9F20? That is, the Beretta PX4 Storm Type F, Model JXF9F20 (full name). Please let me know.

Gen, It doesn’t really matter what model it is. You can easily change it from an “F” model to a “G” model just by taking a small bearing out in the safety/decocker mechanism. I’m assuming the model he is review is an “F” as he talks about a slide mounted safety. The “G” model doesn’t have a safely, just the decocker.

I own the compact version of this pistol in 9mm and it’s absolutely fantastic. Easy to shoot, eats any kind of ammunition that I feed it and it is very accurate. The only thing that has happened is failure for the slide to stay back on the last round of a magazine. It’s only happened with the super cheap Tullamo and only a couple of times. It’s not the fault of the pistol, definitely the ammo.
