Guns & Ammo Reviews

The Chiappa Little Badger is an ultra-compact survival rifle supplied in both .22lr and .22WMR caliber. With its folding feature, this rifle can almost pass for a conceal carry firearm.

Chiappa Little Badger Folding Rifle

The Chiappa Little Badger is a great option for an emergency or a bug out gun. It’s also an excellent choice for your child to start shooting some targets. This gun is super compact and beautifully folds right into your backpack. The Little Badger is designed for fast and easy safekeeping, as well as for quick use when needed. The weight of this rifle is kept to a minimum with its unique wire frame butt stock, allowing you to carry it with ease wherever and whenever you need some shooting to do.

This single-shot Chiappa rifle weighs only 3.5 lbs with a barrel length of 16.5 inches available in .22LR and .22Mag. The sights are adjustable in the rear and fixed at the tip of the barrel. It has wire frame stocks that folds as the rifle breaks open. This allows for a compact size as the gun folds in half.

Ease of Use and Performance

This little badger is very accurate for a rifle that looks like a toy. It’s just a matter of adjusting the rear sights for windage, though it’s not really ideal for long range targets unlike high caliber firearms. This Chiappa is a single-shot rifle so you have to reload after each shot.

For starters, it’s a pretty nifty rifle with a unique design. It’s compact and lightweight which is what you need if you’re concerned about concealing. But I have to be honest I don’t really dig the wire frame stock because it doesn’t look stable and comfortable when shooting. Well, it does serve its purpose but I’d still prefer the conventional wooden ones.

Overall Verdict and Price

I think this gun design is a bit too expensive for a price range of $163.99 – $200. Some models sell for less with beautifully made stocks that extend halfway through the barrel. Yet it’s still an interesting firearm and I might consider purchasing one if sold for a hundred bucks.

Like I said, the butt stock of this Chiappa Little Badger doesn’t impress me. On a positive note, it has a really nice little trigger that you’ll instantly notice as soon as you start firing. The accuracy of this rifle is another thing, credits to the manufacturers. It really does look like a toy so just fire away and see for yourself.

  1. Matt VanCamp says:

Alot of wonderful guns. I really like what Remington has done with the Versa Max. The ability to flawlessly feed and fire whatever length of shell you have on hand is a no-brainer. They rapid fire one of each, 2-1/2, 3, and 3-1/2 inch magnum in rapid succession and in no particular order, flawlessly! Also, my favorite on this list and especially for its sub-$200 price tag is the Chiappa Little Badger. The ability to digest with ease both .22 long rifle and .22 magnum rounds is pretty damned cool! Its like another 2 guns in one package! Plus, it collapses down to backpack size pretty easily! Nice.

  2. I love all those light weight folding or take apart rifles they are so easy to conseal or store in safe please and easy to maintain I have 2 the badger will be my next thanks for the review
