FN SLP: The Reliable Gas-Operated Shotgun

With its toughness, the FN SLP could be an heirloom shotgun as it can stand for about 30 years, even with daily abuse. This beauty has been around for several years now and is quite popular for 3-gun, law enforcement, and home defense. The FN SLP was introduced back in 2008 and since then, this beauty has been known for its excellent performance. On 2009, the American Rifleman magazine recognized the FN SLP as the Shotgun of the Year. Simple, accurate, and reliable, the FN SLP will never disappoint you with its solid performance.

Ease of Use and Performance

Shooters with small body build will appreciate the FN SLP as it has a light recoil. This beauty shoulders quite well and points very naturally. Its high profile ghost ring rear makes it easy for the shooter to acquire the target.

The FN SLP swings very nicely. This beauty also transitions smoothly, allowing the shooter to easily move to the next target.

Overall Verdict and Price

The FN SLP is priced at around $1300 to $1400. Despite the reloading issue I encountered upon shooting this beauty, I will still recommend this autoloader especially for 3-gun shooting.

After shooting the FN SLP on the range for a day, I fell in love with how reliable this shotgun is. If you want a lightweight, semi-automatic shotgun that could meet your expectations, I’d recommend buying this tough and heavy-duty gun. Every penny is worth this beauty.
