Despite Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s comprehensive gun control plan that they intend to advance if they win on November 3, the truth is that we haven’t heard much about gun control in this 2020 election.
Gun Control Is A Non-Issue: Is This Concerning At All?
There was not one mention of gun control in either Presidential debate or in the Vice Presidential debate; not one moderator posed a Second Amendment-related question.
In a year that has brought great uncertainty due to the Covid-19 pandemic, record unemployment, and civil unrest, Americans have rushed to arm themselves against the unknown.
The United States is facing an incredible gun and ammunition shortage.
The small amounts of ammunition that are available, are being rationed and are selling for 5-8x the price that they fetched a year ago.
Of the 28.8 million background checks already processed by the FBI in 2020, an estimated 5 million firearm purchasers are first-time gun owners.
Even those who may have been in favor of stronger gun control prior to 2020, have changed their tune.
Each month Gallup polls Americans and asks, “What do you think is the most important problem facing the country today?”
Every single month since February less than 0.5 percent of respondents have answered “Guns/Gun control.”
America’s Stand on Gun Control
The shift in the focus of the Presidential campaigns away from discussing gun control is a strong indication of where America stands on the issue.
On gun control, a Biden-Harris administration does not have the support of the majority of Americans.
But just because Biden and Harris are shying away from discussing gun control, does not mean they don’t have big plans for our firearms.
Joe Biden has been vocal that he does not believe the Second Amendment protects an individual’s right to keep and bear arms.
Kamala Harris signed onto a brief confirming that she does not believe the Second Amendment protects an individual’s right to keep and bear arms.

Joe Biden is proud of his role in the 1994 federal ban on semi-automatic firearms.
(The ban was allowed to “sunset” after 10 years because there was no real improvement in violent crime.)
Biden would like to revisit the ban upon election and expand it to include 9mm pistols and magazines holding more than 10 rounds.
Kamala Harris is a proponent of a mandatory “buyback” program AKA confiscation of semi-automatic firearms.
She believes that they have no place in America, not even in the hands of law-abiding citizens.
Don’t Mistake The Left’s Silence on Gun Control for Inaction
Just because Democrats are staying silent on gun control, does not mean they don’t have big plans if Biden is elected on November 3. In fact, in a year when the average American appreciates and is exercising their Second Amendment right more than ever before, many gun control groups are actively promoting candidates on very different platforms.
Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety group sent mailers to a handful of states on the subjects of healthcare and pharmaceuticals – with no mention of gun control agendas. Texas received mailers about public school funding.
In Georgia and Montana, misleading ads are being run actively claiming that candidates “defend the Second Amendment” or are pro-gun, when their track records clearly show otherwise.
The deception by Democratic candidates and gun control organizations knows no bounds. Make no mistake, gun control is still their primary focus – they just want to distract you with more popular issues.
A vote for a Democrat in 2020 is a vote against the Second Amendment. Biden and Harris have been allowed by a complicit media to dodge any questioning on the subject, but have been clear in their intentions.
While the media may be sweeping the issue under the rug because of its current unpopularity with voters, it’s important that everyone heading to the polls this year realizes their vote counts on every issue.
You cannot vote for Joe Biden on environmental issues and also vote against him on gun control.
This year more than other years, the potential for a strong shift away from the right to keep and bear arms hangs in the balance.
Prevening the passing of new legislative order is much easier than later overturning unconstitutional laws from the Democratic majority or by executive order.
Educate yourselves on all of the issues before you vote.
