Learn how to make a DIY cayenne pepper spray especially if you're having trouble dealing with raccoons invading your garden.
Raccoons are chicken predators and garden destroyers. Pests in general hate the smell of cayenne pepper and it works with raccoons as well making it a great natural alternative to its chemical counterparts.
How To Make a DIY Cayenne Pepper Spray
What You'll Need:
- 4 oz cayenne pepper
- 5 oz hot sauce
- 1-gallon water
- Spray bottle
Step 1: Mix Ingredients
Mix the cayenne pepper and hot sauce with a gallon of water. Stir to dissolve and combine.
Step 2: Transfer Mixture to Spray Bottle
Transfer the solution to a spray bottle and shake well before use.
Step 3: Spray Where Raccoons Would Go
Spray on garden plants, bushes, and shrubs or where the raccoon is known to frequent.
Step 4: Reapply
It is best to apply this mixture when it's not raining. When it rains, wait for the weather to calm down and dry up before spraying your garden with the solution.
Step 5: Store Properly
Keep the solution covered and out of children's reach. This solution is very hot on the skin and could cause burns.
Make sure to store it somewhere safe and away from people, especially from children to prevent them from harming themselves.
