Fox News is reporting as Florida Governor declares a state of emergency, Hurricane IRMA has been upgraded to a category 5 tropical storm with top wind speeds reaching over 200 MPH and sustaining an average of 175 MPG.
“Some fluctuations in intensity are likely during the next day or two, but Irma is forecast to remain a powerful category 4 or 5 hurricanes during the next couple of days,” the NHC said.
These are wind speeds seen only by Hurricane Katrina in recent years.

If you have a bathtub: fill it with water before the hurricane takes out the local water treatment plant/ pumps.
You can also fill up your outside garbage cans with water for flushing.
I suggest life jackets for people and pets to have available and ropes, maybe even in your car
