I'm about to ask you to do something for me, okay? Here it comes: Wake The Frick Up! I know, I know, it sounds easy. But, in all reality the current state of the world is in shambles and all anyone seems to care about is catching Pokemon on their phone. HAHA!
I'm not joking. People are actually getting into car accidents trying to catch them, walking into and tripping over stuff trying to catch them, and a few select fools have even ended up on the bottom side of a cliff trying to catch these elusive little digital creatures. I've been trying to not talk about this idiocy, but the attack in France last night spurred some anger inside of me and I need to get this off my chest.
Here is a video of a man falling into a pond:
If you believe that catching little digital creatures on your phone is more important than fighting terrorism, both abroad and in our own country, there's something wrong. I'm not trying to be mean, here. This is just me trying to figure out exactly what is going on in our country.
By some conservative estimates, some 10 million people are currently playing the game known as Pokemon Go! Other estimates have it higher than that at 21 million people. That is not a drop in the bucket, folks, and they're not all children. What's more frightening, is just how serious some of these players are…
I have adult friends who are literally OBSESSED with playing this game. Some of them have even said that it's beginning to take over their lives and they play it all the time. And, when they aren't playing it, they're thinking about it. One person I know has even begun having dreams about catching Pikachu while he sleeps at night.
Don't believe me? Here is a news anchor interrupting a meteorologist:
I mean, really? That's what concerns you? Don't get me wrong, I'm not judging. We all have our indulgences. It seems to me that there are more important things to obsess about, however.
My fellow Americans, there are current events throughout the world that demand attention. Sticking your heads into the digital sand and waiting for our problems to go away is not the answer.
A terrorist, loaded to the teeth with guns, explosives, and what is being described only as “large weapons,” just went on a killing spree mowing people down in an “assault truck” on France's sacred holiday.
Why do I say “loaded to the teeth?” Because he was in France, which has some of the strictest gun-control laws in the country. And yet, he was there. And after his “assault truck” ran out of ammunition and stopped, he opened fire on people. His intention was to kill as many people as possible.
I don't even want to point out the simple fact that the guns he had never should have been there because they were made illegal. But, I did just point it out, and he was obviously a criminal and terrorist. We all know that after guns are outlawed, the only people who'll have them will be the criminals as seen in this case.
Again, though, that's not the point. What I want for us all to understand, is that we are at war. We are at war with an ideological group who wants to eventually take over the world as a virus does its host. It won't be satisfied until that host dies. Just before the host dies, it moves on to another to start the cycle over again.
People the world over are dying, and the “leaders” don't do anything about it. If they are doing something, it's as minimal as possible so that nobody gets offended. Make no mistake, we are in the middle of an undeclared war and people are too distracted to notice. To make matters even worse, free-thinking is a thing of the past and if you are a thinker, you are ridiculed as a conspiracy theorist.

I see this daily and it is going to get more people hurt. My house is a target spot where they can pick up pokeballs and even attract and capture some of the imaginary creatures. This was done without my consent, or knowledge. I only found out when a friend and her “kids’ (all adults!) stopped by to play the game. They found that they got much better reception and better play the close to my house. That means walking past my no trespassing signs and up to the house, set back more than 50′ from the public sidewalk.
I caught a couple of teen players who parked in my driveway (after they drove between 2 no trespassing signs!) and were standing just outside of a living room window at about 11 PM. I am a retired cop, so they were fortunate when I confronted them. If I didn’t have many years of confrontation and the knowledge that my house was a Pokemon “hot spot”, they could have very well been shot as burglars. They were instead told to leave immediately and tell their friends that any more appearing on my property would be arrested for criminal trespass. In the safety rules posted by pokemon, it says to NOT trespass, but these days, there are many who think that laws don’t apply to them.
