Fights for Gun Rights On Campus
Lately there have been a lot of stories in the news about the rise in sexual assaults on college campuses.
It's a huge problem and a concern, especially for people who have daughters in college.
Wouldn't you want them to have a way to protect themselves from these predators? I know I would.
But a lot of people argue that one of the most simple solutions would make the problem worse. They say that allowing potential victims to carry firearms would only increase violence on college campuses.
(Makes a lot of sense, doesn't it?)
Here is one young lady who has been a victim of a terrible attack… and now she's fighting for her rights.

At the time of my attack, I had obtained my Concealed Carry Weapons (CCW) permit for the personal choice of not wanting to be a defenseless target. In Nevada, permit holders are not allowed to carry firearms on campuses. As a law-abiding citizen, I left my firearm at home, which means that the law that is meant to ensure my safety only guaranteed the criminal an unmatched victim.
I still wonder what would have been different if I’d been carrying my weapon that night. But here’s the truth: Had I been carrying my firearm, I would have been able to stop the attack. Not only that, but two other rapes would have been prevented and three young lives would have been saved, including my own.

This young lady makes a great case for why responsible students should be able to carry firearms on campus.
Just think of all the attacks that could be stopped before they even start, and all the lives it would save.
Why would anyone be against giving victims a way to protect themselves?
