Spark Multitool Lighter: Your Essential Survival Companion

In the checkout line at most grocery stores, you’ll often find a handy survival tool—the Spark Multitool Lighter. This lightweight yet powerful device isn't just a one-trick pony; it packs several survival applications into a compact package, making it an indispensable piece of gear for anyone out in the wilderness or prepping for emergencies. Trust me, having one of these in your pocket or gear bag means you’re a step ahead when the SHTF.

Spark Multitool Lighter: Gearing Up For When The SHTF

I snagged this product at Walmart for around $7, which is a steal given its versatility. We're talking about a 4-in-1 multitool that includes a reliable lighter, a mini knife, a corkscrew, and a bottle opener. Now, while a corkscrew and a bottle opener might not be your top concerns in a survival scenario, the knife comes in handy when you least expect it. The best part? This lighter is water-resistant (though not fully waterproof) thanks to a cap that protects it. Let's dive deeper into what makes this gadget a must-have.

The Multi-Tool Lighter

At first glance, the Spark Multitool Lighter has a sleek metallic silver finish that catches the eye. There are various color options available, which is a nice touch! Weighing in at around 4 ounces, it's small enough to fit in your pocket, making it portable for any outdoor activity; however, its thickness could be a bit uncomfortable to carry for long periods.

The Mini Knife

The included mini knife is a crucial feature. While it does need a bit of sharpening right out of the box, this tool could be a lifesaver in a pinch. It's excellent for making wood shavings to start a fire or cutting rope when necessary. However, it lacks a sharp point, making it less ideal for skinning game. If you plan on hunting, consider keeping a dedicated skinning knife in your arsenal as well.

The Blue Flame

The Blue Flame | Spark Multitool Lighter Review

One of the primary highlights of the Spark Multitool is its lighter. It generates a steady blue flame, ideal for starting fires, even when the wind tries to spoil your plans. Engaging the flame is simple; just slide the switch down and listen for the clicking sound—the flame will spring to life almost instantly.

The Flame Adjuster & Refilling Valve

Located at the bottom of the lighter, the flame adjuster allows you to control the intensity of the flame, while the refilling valve makes it easy to top up with butane fuel. Just remember, you'll need a small screwdriver or knife to adjust the flame, but that’s a small trade-off for convenience.

The Corkscrew & Bottle Opener

Now let’s talk about the corkscrew. It isn't the most robust feature of the lighter, and I recommend using it carefully, as forcing it can lead to breakage. On the flip side, the bottle opener works seamlessly, getting the job done when you need a refreshing drink after a long day outdoors.

The Verdict

All The Multitool Functions | Spark Multitool Lighter Review

All in all, I confidently recommend the Spark Multitool Lighter. This gear is perfect for camping trips, fishing adventures, or just hanging out with friends on a night out. However, a heads up: it isn’t childproof, so ensure it's out of reach of little hands.

Overall, this gadget is a practical addition to your outdoor gear collection, and it’s worth having on hand just in case. The Spark Multitool Lighter is not worth $7 I received one as a gift and kept it in my tackle box it did not last for one season, corkscrew broke on first try, knife blade bends too easy and the lighters piezo mechanism wore out after one fill all I have now is a bulky bottle opener because that is the only feature that still works

  2. cjoe2 says:

I bought it for $4.97 last night at WM and it lasted up to this afternoon and quit working. So….

I can’t figure out how to even fill mine so I cancan use it. The butane from Walmart doesn’t fit the valve and the lighters don’t start out with very much fuel in them at all. What a waste because nownow in stuck with 2 unused and unuseable lighters
