Origins of the Tactical Shotgun Scabbard
The first design consideration behind the Tactical Shotgun Scabbard by Beez Combat Systems was that it had to be carried vertically in order to reduce space taken on the sides from scabbards with a diagonal placement design. Due to this the scabbards opening was also slightly increased in order to convenience the wearer when drawing their weapon from a vertical position.
The second design consideration was to completely eliminate the sling or diagonal strap. Instead a four point system was designed; two adjustable shoulder straps, adjustable chest strap and an adjustable waist strap in order to comfortably contour to the body’s alignment and create a steady platform to draw the weapon. A 2” row of MOLLE webbing can also be found to adjust the waist strap or to be used to mount the scabbard to other gear.

The third design consideration was to add the tools necessary for door breachers and door kickers. A simple diagonal 2” piece of webbing can be found sewn onto the exterior of the scabbard 18” in length reaching up to the left shoulder. This allows the wearer to extract the pry tool without ever having to take off the scabbard.

Finally, the fourth design consideration was how to secure the weapon in place in case of an inverted positioning or if a lot of ground needs to be covered very quickly. A 1” weapons strap can be found at the mouth of the scabbard where the weapon is inserted. This 1” strap is adjustable and also features a buckle for securing butt stocks or pistol grips into place. This buckle can also be unbuckled from the vertical position before drawing the weapon.
