Memorial Day is about more than bathing suits, beaches and barbecues.
It's about remembering the brave men and women who gave their all for our country, and asking ourselves what we can do for those who are still with us.
After all, there's nothing more patriotic than supporting the troops who have helped keep our country safe and free.
So this Memorial Day, why not donate to a good cause that helps support military veterans and active service members? 1. Wounded Warrior Project

3. Hire Heroes USA
Hire Heroes USA empowers transitioning U.S. military members, veterans and their spouses to succeed in the civilian workforce through workshops, personalized career coaching and employment preparation counseling. 4. Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund
The Semper Fi Fund and America’s Fund provide immediate financial assistance and lifetime support to post-9/11 wounded, critically ill and injured members of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, and their families, ensuring that they have the resources they need during their recovery and transition back to their communities. 6. Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation

7. Admiral Nimitz Foundation
The Admiral Nimitz Foundation was established in 1971 as a 501 (c)(3) to provide additional development funding for the Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz Naval Museum, a museum honoring Fredericksburg’s native son and Commander-in-Chief of Allied Forces, Pacific Ocean Area. Since then, the Foundation’s efforts have built a well-established and respected institution, which annually welcomes over 100,000 visitors, including about 15,000 middle and high school students from across the state. 9. Freedom Service Dogs of America
Freedom Service Dogs is a nonprofit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by rescuing dogs and custom training them for individual client needs. Clients include children, veterans and active duty military, and other adults. Their disabilities include autism, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, and post-traumatic stress disorder. 10. Homes for Our Troops
Homes for Our Troops (HFOT) is a privately funded 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that builds mortgage-free, specially adapted homes nationwide for severely injured Veterans Post- 9/11, to enable them to rebuild their lives. Most of these Veterans have sustained injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, and/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI).
These homes restore some of the freedom and independence our Veterans sacrificed while defending our country, and enable them to focus on their family, recovery, and rebuilding their lives. Click here to learn more and donate.
