Guns & Ammo Reviews

The YHM HRC 200 is ready for the hunt as the hunter himself. This Yankee Hill Machine rifle can take on all sorts of medium-size game with the right ammunition.

YHM HRC 200 Hunt Ready Rifle

Yankee Hill Machine has been producing gun parts for decades so it's no surprise they created their own style of tactical rifles. If it can be used for tactical purposes, it certainly can be utilized for hunting too. The YHM HRC 200, for instance, is a rifle built for hunting. Bearing the YHM name almost automatically associates this firearm to a tactical weapon. HRC stands for Hunt-Ready Carbine–this gun sure is ready with its Bushnell Banner scope mounted straight from the factory. I had a fun time testing this rifle a couple of years ago I barely missed a shot.

Ease of Use and Performance

I had nothing but flawless shooting with the HRC 200. This firearm has excellent balance as it is capable of shooting with pinpoint accuracy as you comfortably get used to the sights. I'm talking about the type of accuracy that can get a clean shot on an animal target at 200 yards or more. Follow-up shots are a breeze after adjusting your aim from the recoil. The upper and lower receivers, as well as the handguard, are all made from aircraft-grade aluminum making this rifle a very durable hunting gear.

Pros and Cons

The Bushnell Banner scope greatly emphasized the rifle being tagged as hunt-ready. It also has a machined-aluminum fore-end which gives the shooter a nice heat-free grip as you hold the rifle in firing stance. This gun is just beautifully made you could barely find any tool marks or badly formed edges. On the other hand, perhaps Yankee Hill Machine can do better than just a 5-round detachable magazine.

Overall Verdict and Price

This HRC 200 is a great value for a hunting rifle. How many AR rifles out there are made for a legitimate hunting caliber? At around $1570, you get a mix of AR and a kickass weapon for the hunting grounds. This is actually one among the top of my list in my planned guns to buy.

Yankee Hill Machine have come a long way from manufacturing precision parts to creating the best firearms in the gun industry. Besides, the transition is a smart move for any company in their position. If we're making the parts, what should hold us from making the entire thing and evolve in the process? Now business has never been better.
