ANY dog can be trained to be vicious. The natural temperament of the Ovcharka is protective but NOT mean. The one I owned was aggressive when needed but otherwise very much a loving family member. Too many people get these dogs to fight them and not for their temperament and protection. Its a HUGE disservice to a wonderful breed. They are extremely intelligent and stubborn they are NOT a good breed for a novice dog owner
