The Benelli Nova/Supernova brings you strength in all weather conditions. It's an Italian firearm innovation to give other shotgun manufacturers stiff competition.
Benelli Nova/Supernova: A Pump Field Shotgun
The Benelli Nova/Supernova is a one-piece stock from the tip of its butt all the way up to the barrel. I got mine from a trade a couple of years back and I had no regrets whatsoever, not one bit.
This Nova will shoot any 12-gauge shell and I have zero issues so far with this 3.5-inch pump gun.
This gun allows you to have a loaded magazine with an empty chamber, so you can do whatever while carrying this shotgun in full safety.
You can walk through the mud, pick up a bird, and walk with your buddy in an empty chamber without needing to empty the entire gun.
Gun Specs
The barrel length variations of the Benelli Nova are 18, 24, 26, and 28 inches. This gun operates in pump action with a magazine capacity of 5 rounds and shoots 12 and 20 gauge (2-3/4″, 3″, and 3-1/2″ chambers).
It's extremely weather-resistant made of corrosion-proof polymer to withstand all weather conditions, a very important feature for any firearm.
It's available in black and camo finish in Comfortech and SteadyGrip with an overall weight of 6.4-8.1 lbs.
Ease of Use and Performance
This is one of my favorite shotguns in terms of comfortability. It boasts hi-tech ergonomics designed to make a shooter's handling smoother than most affordable shotguns.
The accuracy is always in check and never changes even after a few hundred rounds.
This gun's strength can be compared to firearms a couple of thousands more expensive than itself. It's known for being able to take a lot of beating, a durability of its own class.
Pros and Cons
The Benelli Nova has a slide with a slim front and a heavier back, so you can choose between using a big grip or a slim grip whenever you execute the pump.
It's also unique in its construction which makes it easy for you to disassemble the gun quickly.
All you need to do is put a pin on top of the magazine cap, that allows you to press the pins out, and off goes the trigger assembly, the fore-end, and the bolt.
All is done in 20 to 30 seconds! One downside to the Nova though is it's difficult to customize due to its one-piece receiver.
A different setup with this gun would cost you more than doing it with a Mossberg 500 or a Remington 870.
Overall Verdict and Price
At $690 you get a very good deal with the Benelli Nova/Supernova. It's top quality from the grip to the slide and it is extremely easy to handle.
No need to empty the entire gun as you can do it with the chamber and leave the ammo in the magazine. This gun is a breeze for home defense, hunting, and tactical use.

I have quite a number of shotguns in my collection and this Benelli is one of my prized possessions. You know how the greater it feels holding a gun and the fewer problems it gives you when you're having quality shooting time.
But then again if you're fond of customizing your gun, which every avid gun folks do sometimes, forget the Benelli Nova. Besides, this model is already great in its form and needs only a bit of cleaning every once in a while.
