One of the top names in rifle magazines just announced the release a new product for the AR-10 platform. Set to hit stores this January is the Hexmag AR-10, 20 round magazine. Their newest mag comes with all the features that their customers have come to love, to include:
- Firm seating with a self-lubricating anti-tilt follower
- Patented HexID Color Identification System
- Exclusive, robust PolyHex2 Advanced Composite Construction
- Made in the USA
- Lifetime warranty
- Tool-free disassembly
One of the great things about Hexmag's rifle magazines is the simple color ID system they come with. The different colors allow you to identify what you're grabbing on your way to the range or in close quarters combat.
Those of us who use the AR-15 platform Hexmag, could identify different types of ammo (green tips, tracer, etc) or between 5.56 and .300 BLK if they were different colors (remember that they use the same size magazine). The follower is colored, and so is a small part of the bottom.
Even though 7.62X51 (or .308) uses a larger magazine, the color coded system still helps you ID if you're using lightweight ammo, a light or heavy self-load, tracer, or anything else you may be using.
As stated above they make their stuff in the US of A, and offer a lifetime warranty just as long as you're using it right and can show proof of purchase. Again, these aren't released yet, but are anticipated to come out in January. If you're in the market for a new magazine for your AR-10, it may be a good idea to wait until these are released.
MSRP for this 20 round 7.62X51 magazine is set to just $18.99, which is a great price when you consider what many of their competition gets per magazine. I was in the market for some AR-10 mags, and can say that I'll be waiting for these to come out.
