Guns & Ammo Reviews

The Mossberg 535 ATS is an outstanding big-game shotgun for hunting waterfowl. Never get tired loading those slugs with this rugged pump action gun specimen.

Mossberg 535 ATS | All Terrain Shotgun

The Mossberg 535 ATS is a reliably renowned hunting shotgun, influenced by the feat of two other Mossberg shotguns chambered in 3 and 3.5 inches.

The 535 ATS model shares the best features of the Mossberg 500 and 835, you can fire light slugs from it or some really good buck shots without any problems. I must say this is one of the best firearm deals you will ever get.

I've got friends who use this model for years and I don't normally hear any complaints about its performance. If you really know how to handle a shotgun, this Mossberg will certainly rock your shooting.

Gun Specs

This pump action shotgun is available in barrel lengths of 20, 22, 24, and 28 inches.

It shoots with 12 gauge (3-1/2″ chamber) at a maximum capacity of 5 shots. The sights are adjustable as well as bead and fiber optics for your preference.

You can choose between blued, matte blue, or camo finishes supplied with synthetic or wood stocks at an overall weight of 6.5 to 7.7 lbs.

Ease of Use and Performance

The 535 ATS is incredibly well-balanced which is easy to notice as soon as you hold it in firing position. There are three different attainable types of sights for your preference including fiber optics.

Your pump action will determine the quickness of your next shot with the same accuracy everytime you pull the trigger. Is this gun durable? Well, I guess it isn't named “All Terrain Shotgun” for nothing.

Pros and Cons

Like most Mossberg shotguns, I find it cool to have the double-action bar button for releasing the pump behind the trigger guard.

It has a unique adjustable trigger system feature for pump-action shotguns, and Mossberg was the first to come up with this brilliant idea.

The barrels can be changed without needing to detach the scope if its already in place. I guess the only thing I don't like about this gun is the camo finish that tends to wear out, but this is just a minor issue.

Overall Verdict

Like I said, this is one of the best shotgun deals out there in the market. At $590, you get all these great features patented by Mossberg to make a versatile, top quality firearm for all types of shooters.

It's excellent for turkey hunting, clay shooting, range firing, you name it.

I have to admit I have a weakness for these great gun deals. You see all kinds of new stuff when you get inside a gun store and you just want to have them all. But the Mossberg 535 ATS is the kind you can't let pass even if you know an upgrade of this model is going to hit the market in a few years. I had the same feeling when I bought my first Remington 870.
