Everyone's favorite gun-related time of the year is literally right around the corner. I'm making my final preparations, packing my junk and making sure my list is up to date because I'm leaving for Las Vegas on Sunday. There will be some really awesome products there this year, and I can't wait to show you which ones are the absolute best.
Here is another SHOT Show preview featuring some of the products we're looking forward to the most:
Binary Firing System:
The BFS from Franklin has me foaming at the mouth. Think of this like a bump-fire stock that works with the flip of a switch. However, instead of being recoil driven, every motion of the trigger, both pull and release, sends a round down range. It can also be turned off, with the flip of a switch to return the rifle to semi-automatic. They've already received their opinion letter from BATFE, and they classify this AR as a semi-auto rifle—even though you can get your trigger finger moving quick enough to fool people into thinking you've got a full-auto weapon on your hands. Can't wait for this one.

Air Powered .50 Cal Shotgun:
Yeah, believe it or not, another one of my favorites isn't even really classified as a firearm. Air Venturi made this air shotgun, and actually go hunting with it. I can't wait to get my hands on it to see how quietly it shoots a .50 caliber projectile, and really, just to see how well it works.
SMI Storm 47:
The AK-47 has been around for a long time. More often than not, the design has never really changed from one manufacturer to the next. The saying is true: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Some people can't help themselves though, and I'm not sure where I stand on this one just yet. This Storm 47 is like a cross between an AR and an AK. I do want to get my hands on it, because, let's face it: if you can improve upon what many would call a perfect design, I'm all over it like flies on an elephant's ass. You'll hear about it from us, first.
.308 Can Cannon—BATFE Approved:
Who didn't love the Can Cannon when they first laid eyes on it? It was like love at first sight, with something that shoots big-arsed projectiles at a long distance. If you remember correctly, ATF gave them some issues that they had to fix, and it looks like they did. So, you can still use your AR lower, only this time, there's more power so you can shoot your projectiles even further! YAY!
