What to Expect

President Trump just said, “I have spoken w/ @GovAbbott of Texas and @LouisianaGov Edwards.” He also tweeted before noon, “Closely monitoring #HurricaneHarvey developments & here to assist as needed.”

Hurricane season is no laughing matter. Tropical storms and other weather-related disasters have led to a lot of destruction in the U.S.

Previous hurricanes like Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Sandy affected thousands of people. They also caused billions of dollars in damages. While McGregor prepares to KO Mayweather Jr, you should also prepare for strong winds, heavy rain, floodwaters, and other hazards occurring over the weekend.

Since you've probably tuned into predictions and discussions of McGregor's fight, you should also probably tune into your local weather station. Or, check websites like Weather.com for updates on the hurricane and listen ot the National Weather Service.

They'll tell you about wind speeds, inches of rain, and other information. Updates will help you determine whether it's safer to remain at home, or evacuate to a safer place. Updates will also help you make better decisions for you, your family, and your properties.

Also, familiarize yourself with your town and city's disaster preparedness plan. They might have early warning systems, evacuation routes, and other processes to help you during the storm.

In general, even before a hurricane, you should keep a few things in mind. Get your go-bag and emergency survival kit ready. These kits should contain supplies and necessities to last you during and after the hurricane.

They should contain things like water, medicine, batteries, non-perishable food, and other things you can't do without. There are plenty of other resources online to help you make your kit.

Also, you shouldn't be the only one prepared. If you have a family, make sure they're prepared as well. Create an emergency communication plan so you and your family know how to help each other during a disaster.

Put all your outside furniture in your house so they don't get destroyed. Unclog any drains and pipes so you won't get much water damage from the rain.

Where to Go

If the local government, coast guard, or weather station doesn't make any evacuation announcements, stay indoors! That's why you should know the evacuation routes in Houston, Texas, or wherever you are. When you hear an announcement from the National Weather Service, Coast Guard, or any other important agency, prepare to leave your house and bring only the necessities.

If you would do your homework instead of just carrying your books to school and vomiting the loony left’s un-American and peaceless agenda, you wouldn’t look like an uneducated fool in public. You win the dunce cap.

Odd…you only leave a comment but no refutation of the comment you address. Everyone has an opinion and an a–hole and they both stink. Next time, leave some educated notation of where you get your information that has NO ties to published FAR RIGHT, TEA PARTY publishers. Prove your assertions. As it stands now, you “look” like the uneducated fool in public, only the dunce cap is up your a–.

I carried my books to school for years and completed all my homework. Worked hard and earned myself a graduate degree. I don’t call people names but I agree with Aaron. This president does not put the people first. Peace…what is your definition of peace? Everyone that is not on Trump’s side is supposed to sit down and shut up? That is the most unAmerican stance I have ever heard. If our ancestors that did not agree with the King had sat down like good little boys and girls and followed along with the English ruler there would be no America today. Never forget Americans value and cherish free speech. Just because someone doesn’t agree with you don’t lower yourself to name calling and demeaning them. Who really is looking uneducated in public? Educated folks know how to say I guess we agree to disagree.
