Wolves were hunted/trapped/poisoned to near extinction for a reason. I’ve read the wolves being used to repopulate USA are not native to this part of North America and are much larger than the native wolves were. This article seems to confirm that. On top of that, some foola are breeding wolf/dog hybrids that are said to have no fear of man.

Im sorry, but this article is absurd. I have grown up and hunted in wolf, bear, and cougar country my entire life. Of the three, wolves are the least of my worries. If you do research on all the documented wolf attacks in american history, then you are will see there is a higher probability of being attacked by a deer than a damn wolf.
Not vey long ago I read some copied articles from newspapers written in the 19th century in Nebraska, North and South Dakota and Kansas about wolf attacks. Now, I can’t attest to the accuracy of newspaper articles, especially when I consider what passes for news in papers today and I only look as if I am old enough to have been alive back then, but if the accounts of the attacks are at all accurate, wolves were a real problem in terms of attacks on humans in the rural midwest during the 19th century which is one reason the federales had a bounty on them until the bambiists got money to influence greedy politicians to reintroduce them back into the U.S. in a protected status.
I am sure you have heard the Mark Twainism that there are lies, damned lies and statistics. Well, it is my understanding that “mountain lion attacks” in California fall into the statistics category. The reason that there are so few numbers of mountain lion attacks in California is that there is a very narrow definition of what constitutes an attack and if an encounter with a mountain lion doesn’t meet that narrow definition then it is a non-event.

I don’t know where you all get your information. Wolves populated the entire United States and North American Continent. Healthy wolves don’t attack people, unless people provoke them. If you are stupid enough to bring a dog into an area where there are wolves then you should be attacked. Wolves are vital to the habitat just take the time to review some studies on Yellow Stone and what happened when wolves returned.

Wolves have both good points and bad, just like humans, but they mate for life (how many humans are STILL married in this day and age?) and as for killing everything, that just about evens them up with humans, BUT they don’t set out to hunt us, personally – just food.
