5 Sleek Carry Guns You Can Get Under 300 Dollars

1. Walther PPS M2

The Walther PPS M2 LE is a semi-auto pistol specifically designed for personal defense and concealed carry. It features a lightweight and slim frame increasing the reliability of this striker-fired carry gun.

What’s more, the PPS M2 boasts a smooth, short, and consistent trigger pull that features a tactile reset. Its steel slide sports front and rear serrations for improved slide cocking and manipulation and comes with a corrosion-resistant Tenifer matte black coating.

Phosphoric front and rear night sights are functional in any lighting. The frame is constructed with a rigid polymer for durability. Moreover, the structure is reinforced with a non-slip and textured grip surface for rugged and reliable performance even with gloved hands.

The magazine release is easily accessible with your thumb. Lastly, the Walther PPS M2 also features a striker indicator and comes with a six-round magazine extendable to seven.

2. Smith & Wesson M&P 9 Shield

The trigger safety on the M&P 9 Shield has a better feel than a Glock. On the other hand, the trigger is flat and comfortable where your finger makes contact due to the rounded edge.

What’s more, this striker fire trigger carry-gun has scale-like serrations on the slide for better grip during charge up. Like the slide, the barrel is also made of stainless steel, which guarantees you longevity and value for your money.

It has an excellent grip length that’s medium between a sub-compact and a compact carry gun, even with the flat magazine in. You might, however, not like it if you like handguns with a wider grip.

The length of M&P Shield’s barrel is about ¼-inch shorter than a Glock’s, making it ideal for concealed carry. Similarly, having the width of the grip at almost ¼ of an inch shorter makes it easier to fit in most waistbands.

However, compared to the Glock 27, the grip of the performance center ported M&P 9 is a little longer when fitted with standard magazines.

3. Ruger LC9s Pro

This semi-automatic carry gun is an updated version of the beloved LC9, and it’s chambered in 9mm. Though the pistol has retained several features of the original LC9, it has some upgrades, such as a crisper and shorter trigger pull with a safety integration.

It also features a magazine disconnect that allows for tactical reloads. This way, you can reload the magazine with one round remaining in the chamber. It also comes with a manual safety that you can easily remove, not to mention various color options.

It is a seven-round and comes with one magazine. This concealed carry gun cannot fire without the magazine, but its steel construction guarantees durability. Its glass-filled nylon grip is checkered for maximum comfort during handling.

4. Ruger LCP II

Compared to its smaller counterpart, the Ruger LCP II has a slightly larger and textured grip frame and improved sights. You will love the featured floorplate finger-grip extension, especially if you have large hands.

It is a six-round carry gun and comes with one magazine, and it has an easy-to-rack slide that locks back after you fire your last round. The recessed hammer inside the slide reduces the likelihood of the handgun catching on clothing during a hasty presentation.

5. Taurus G2c

Despite its relatively low price, the Taurus G2c has proven to be a worthwhile concealed carry gun over the years. It is a single fire trigger – striker fire, but it has restrike capabilities.

It’s comfortable and reliable thanks to its adjustable sights and will point naturally in 10 yards or less. As far as safety goes, Taurus G2c features various safety functions, from manual safety to a loaded chamber indicator.

Its ergonomics are excellent, with strategically textured grip spots that increase comfort, especially during usage. What’s more, its serrated rail makes for better grip during charge up. Though it is relatively heavier, it has a 12-round capacity and comes with two magazines.

There you go, fellow gun enthusiasts. You can still sport a functional self-defense gun at an affordable price. The trick is to figure out what works best for you since they all have varying features. And with these top five, you bet you will like one or two, if not more.

Robert and Eric – I won’t disagree with either of you about good choices but the article did stipulate under $300 — which a couple on the list are likely over that price point.
If someone can find any of the ones listed below the price point, and ya have some loose change laying around, they would likely be worth picking up just as investments.

The SCCY’s magazine holds 10 rds NOT 6. A SCCY CPX2 (no manual safety model) is my dedicated boat gun. When I take it to the range it has never failed to go bang. Very acceptable accuracy as well.
